Dec 13 2009 Syrian Novelist Wins Naguib Mahfouz Prize for Literature
Syrian novelist Khalil Sualeh won Naguib Mahfouz Prize for Literature awarded by the American University in Cairo for his novel /Warraq al-Hub/. The arbitration committee said in a statement that the novel is very exciting, describing it as an intelligent novel where its author incorporates a continued and contradictory text to prove that each new writings is a moral repetition, restoration and addition to the literary writing. Naguib Mahfouz Award, established by the Publishing Section at the American University in 1996, worth a thousand US dollars. The outcome was declared on 11th of December which marks Mahouze birthday, the Nobel Prize laureate in literature, who died in 2006. H.Zain/ Idelbi - SANA |
