Syrian Novelist Wins Naguib Mahfouz Prize for Literature

Syrian novelist Khalil Sualeh won Naguib Mahfouz Prize for Literature awarded by the American University in Cairo for his novel /Warraq al-Hub/.

The arbitration committee said in a statement that the novel is very exciting, describing it as an intelligent novel where its author incorporates a continued and contradictory text to prove that each new writings is a moral repetition, restoration and addition to the literary writing.

Naguib Mahfouz Award, established by the Publishing Section at the American University in 1996, worth a thousand US dollars. The outcome was declared on 11th of December which marks Mahouze birthday, the Nobel Prize laureate in literature, who died in 2006.
