Syrian artist Ismail Nasra is currently preparing to hold his first
individual gallery in Turkey
after his successful
contribution along with five
other
Syrian
artists in the Istanbul
International Modern Art
Exhibition, which was held
in early December.
Nasra
said that the company
organizing the Syrian
pavilion at Istanbul
Exhibition was encouraged to
hold individual galleries
due to the popularity of
Syrian
works at the Exhibition,
which why they will be
organizing an individual
gallery of Nasra's works
early in 2010.
Istanbul International
Modern Art Exhibition is the
most important annual
contemporary and modern art
event in Turkey, with
participation of several
Turkish and international
galleries, artists and art
fans.
This year's exhibition
marks the first
Syrian
participation, with the
Syrian pavilion being a
guest of honor and receiving
unprecedented interest and
turnout.
Syrian artists who
participated in the
exhibition are painters
Ismail Nasra, Sarah Shamma,
Ahmad Mualla, Hasko Hasko
and sculptors Ghazwan Alaaf
and Mustafa Ali.
