Tunisia, Syria to further develop tourism and cultural relations

Syrian Minister of Culture Dr. Riad Naasan Agha underlined
the importance of cultural cooperation between Syria and
Tunisia, showing keenness to further develop and support
this cooperation since culture outlines the future.
The Minister's remarks came during his meeting with Tunisian
Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi in Tunis.
Dr. Naasan Agha reviewed the historical ties linking Syria
and Tunisia and talked about events of the Syrian cultural
week which kicked off today in the frame wok of celebrating
Kairouan as Capital of Islamic Culture for 2009.
Naasan Agha and Ghannouchi also reviewed ways of developing
the standing cultural relations between Syria and Tunisia
and events of the Syrian cultural week.
A number of musical and theatrical groups are participating
in the Syrian cultural week which coincides with exhibitions
of books, fine arts and a number of other cultural
activities.
