The Damascus International Equestrian Show Jumping
Tournament resumed competitions on Wednesday at the Olympic
Stadium at Bassel al-Assad Club for Shooting and Equestrian
Sports.
The Tournament serves as the qualifiers for the
International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) World
Cup 2010.
In the Class A qualifiers for the Grand Prix which will be
held on Friday, Emirati rider Ahmad al-Jnaibi came in first,
finishing the course in 42.68 second, with Saudi Abdullah
bin Mutib in second place with 46.12 seconds and Egyptian
Ahmad Alaa Rajab in third place with 49.02 seconds.
As for the B Class competition, Saudi Abdullah bin Mutib
came in first with 40.82 second, followed by Syrian Manaf
al-Jaberiat second place with 41.86 seconds and Egyptian
Mohammad Usamma al-Burai in third place with 42.92 seconds.
The Tournament's panel of judges will select a number of
contestants from today to participate in the Grand Prix,
with another event on Thursday for contestants who didn't
qualify for the Grand Prix.
